Wang Xu and WHITE+

Wang Xu. Drummer of WHITE+ and The Gar. Before an improv noise set in the hutong near School Bar, we meet up with him in his practice space. It's the Carsick Cars space, as the other member is their singer. A place I visited just days earlier with Hedgehog. We chat quite a bit about China, Chicago, underground scenes.

He saw CHINESE STARS and Battles when they played SXSW. That's cosmic.  He told me I should definitely meet up with Casino Demon tomorrow, who I planned on filming anyway. They're crazy bastards, he assures me. More good news as the night unfolds...the excellent DIDERS agree to let me film their practice tomorrow.

We have a great meal, and head over to have a drink elsewhere. I accidentally run into the infamous "little punk", Pei Pei, who a friend Montana, David Turley, says I should meet, months before I even began this trek. Wild.

While there, we talk with a member of a local punk band The Flyx, and line up a session in the "Dirty Monster Club" in Tongzhou. More on that later. Solid Day!
