Full Label.
Met up with Lee Howie from FULL LABEL, a collective of people in Guangzhou holding shows in practice spaces, skate parks. Doing things the way they should be done. Oh, and he's a doctor, too. Took the train with him to S.D. Livehouse, then, my first ride on the back of a pseudo-motorized-rickshaw-bike-whatever. As Howie explained, whatever they want for the ride, you tell them you will give them half that. Terrifyingly awesome. PAIRS from Shanghai were to play, but their flight was delayed, and delayed, and delayed. They ended up canceling the show. Shitty, but I will see them in Shanghai. Lee Howie talked about why he does what he does. More interviews where the questions were translated and I have no idea what was said just yet, including the owner of the venue, who also runs a space in a former bomb shelter. I'm trying to set up a show there upon my return to Guangzhou in November. This kid draws comics, and this was his second zine. It was slick. He hopes to do more. Super goofy kid. Tomorrow, another P.K.14 show, then, I go with them to the sichuan province! More soon. Cheers.
