P.K.14 : Guangzhou
Guangzhou. Another livehouse I never, ever, ever would have found if it weren't for someone to bring me. A museum type space in the middle of a pitch black park that seemed super epic but I couldn't see a damn thing, just the shadows. Song from Full Label brought me. Not sure what the name of this opener was but it was awesome and I will update this when I find out. I had a killer headache and nobody uses Tylenol in China. Another killer show by P.K.14, though the sound was a little wacky. Met Zining Cui, another music-type-journalist. Her card is a cassette and is awesome. She brought me to an after party, again, what seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. Even for China. My headache went away after some super cheap drinks. Looking forward to hanging out with her more when I get back to Guangzhou. My return trip is starting to become really, really epic. An absolutely stellar night. Another $7 hostel that was perfect in every way. As soon as I start to really get a feel for this city, I am off. Next up, 2 days in Changsha before heading deep into the Sichuan province. Stoked! Onward.
